Official-source checked
2026 status checked 19 July: GEIMS's official MBBS page is labelled Admission Open 2026-27 and lists NEET UG 2026/MCC reporting documents. NMC's current national records show the college at 150 MBBS seats, but candidates must confirm the exact 2026-27 NMC row and live MCC deemed matrix before choice locking. A dated 2026 fee schedule was not visible in the reviewed page text.

Graphic Era Institute of Medical Sciences: verified identity

Graphic Era Institute of Medical Sciences (GEIMS) is located at 16th Milestone, Chakrata Road, Dhoolkot, Dehradun, Uttarakhand 248008. It is associated with Graphic Era (Deemed to be University). Its MBBS seat is therefore handled through MCC's deemed-university counselling, not Uttarakhand state counselling.

GEIMS is a relatively new medical college: NMC's 2026 CRMI annexure records its establishment year as 2024 and shows 150 MBBS seats in recent intake columns. This makes current regulatory status, faculty stability, patient load and how the hospital is scaling particularly important.

Do not confuse the medical institute with Graphic Era's engineering or general university admissions. The university's generic direct/merit admission language for other courses does not apply to MBBS. MBBS requires NEET qualification and MCC allotment.

Graphic Era MBBS admission route 2026

  1. Qualify NEET UG 2026 and save scorecard, admit card and AIR.
  2. Read MCC's 2026 UG bulletin and deemed-university rules.
  3. Register with MCC and pay the applicable deemed registration/security amount.
  4. Open the live matrix and match Graphic Era Institute of Medical Sciences, institute code, quota and seat count.
  5. Download the current GEIMS fee, reporting, bond and hostel documents.
  6. Fill choices in genuine order after checking the full cost.
  7. Download the MCC allotment letter if selected.
  8. Pay/report only through the official instructions and deadline.
  9. Read upgradation, resignation and forfeiture rules before later rounds.

The official GEIMS page itself instructs candidates to register at MCC and lists the MCC allotment letter among mandatory reporting documents. No college-level “direct MBBS” process can replace this route.

GEIMS MBBS seats for 2026

The prior MCC 2025 deemed matrix listed 150 MBBS seats across the institution's rows. NMC's current 2026 CRMI data also displays 150 in recent seat columns for GEIMS. These two sources support a 150-seat recent intake, but the final 2026 choice decision must use NMC's 2026-27 UG matrix and MCC's exact round matrix.

A college's sanctioned intake is not necessarily the number available in every round. MCC may display deemed paid and NRI rows separately, and vacancies change after each allotment.

Eligibility and NRI category

Candidates must meet NEET UG 2026 age, nationality/OCI and qualifying-examination rules, including required Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology and English study. MCC and GEIMS verify eligibility at reporting.

Ordinary deemed paid seats are generally open on an all-India basis. Uttarakhand domicile is not required for that MCC row. NRI/NRI-sponsored seats, where shown, require sponsor passport/visa, relationship evidence, notarised sponsorship affidavit and embassy/consulate certificate under MCC rules.

The GEIMS 2026 page says NRI candidates must have studied Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English in the qualifying programme and lists NRI documents. Do not create or purchase sponsor evidence. An NRI allotment remains subject to original verification.

Graphic Era MBBS fees: what is verified

An earlier official GEIMS allotted-candidate page stated a Year-1 MBBS deposit of Rs 28,00,000 and linked a detailed fee schedule. The associated forms are marked for the 2024 cycle. This is historical official evidence, not a confirmed 2026-27 fee.

The current 2026 admissions page describes cancellation/refund rules but did not expose a dated 2026 fee table in the text reviewed. Therefore obtain the current “MBBS Fee Schedule & Remittance” PDF showing tuition, other fees, hostel, caution deposit and payment years before choice locking.

DiscontinuationInstitution publishes a bondRead whole-course liability

The discontinuation bond historically says a student leaving after admission can become liable for the whole course fee according to the schedule. This can be far larger than MCC's security deposit. Take independent advice if any clause is unclear.

Full-course budget and payment safety

Do not multiply an old first-year amount and call it the total. Ask how many years tuition is payable, whether annual revision applies and what “other fees” include. Add hostel, mess, electricity, examination, university registration, instruments, insurance, transport and personal costs.

The older official page published a bank account and DD instructions, but bank details can change. Verify the current beneficiary using the 2026 PDF and contact information on the official GEIMS domain. NRI payments may be restricted to NRI accounts.

Pay only after MCC allotment. Keep UTR/DD copy, itemised receipt and acknowledgement for originals. Avoid personal accounts, cash, donation or “seat booking.”

Graphic Era Medical College cutoff 2026

The correct cutoff is the closing NEET All India Rank in MCC's final/revised result for the exact GEIMS quota and round. No 2026 cutoff exists before the round result.

NEET marks-to-rank changes every year. Compare AIR, not a recycled marks score. Ordinary deemed paid and NRI rows can close differently and must not be combined.

  • Aspirational: rank is weaker than several matching historical GEIMS closings.
  • Competitive: rank overlaps matching official results.
  • Relatively safer: rank is stronger than comparable evidence, never guaranteed.

A new college can show volatile early-year cutoffs as awareness, price and preference change. One prior stray-round result is not a dependable 2026 forecast.

Clinical exposure: audit a new medical college carefully

GEIMS promotes laboratories, simulation and clinical training facilities. Marketing descriptions are not enough for a five-and-a-half-year decision. Ask for its latest NMC-format disclosure and hospital registration details.

Collect monthly OPD, IPD, occupied beds, casualty, surgeries, deliveries, ICU, dialysis and imaging volumes. Compare those with 150 students per batch and the number of clinical teaching units. Determine whether statistics belong to the same attached teaching hospital at Dhoolkot.

Campus visit questions

  • How many occupied beds were there yesterday in medicine, surgery, paediatrics and OBG?
  • How many students join each bedside unit?
  • Which departments have full-time faculty and senior residents?
  • Where will the first 2024 batch complete internship rotations?
  • What is the internship stipend and has it been paid on time?
  • What facilities, hostels and cadaver capacity support three concurrent batches?

Visit on an ordinary weekday. A new campus may have impressive infrastructure while patient volume and academic systems are still maturing.

Regulatory and academic checks

Verify the exact 2026 NMC row, any renewal conditions and later MARB orders. The CRMI list supports current existence/intake history but is not a substitute for the UG permission matrix.

Review faculty/resident attendance, department-wise beds, library, skills lab, cadavers, examination results, anti-ragging system and grievance mechanism. Since the college began in 2024, it does not yet have a long MBBS graduation track record.

University rankings in engineering or management do not measure undergraduate medical clinical training. Evaluate GEIMS medical evidence directly.

How to compare GEIMS with an established college

A new college should not be rejected merely for being new, but uncertainty must be priced into the decision. Compare GEIMS with an older deemed college across the same dated evidence: active patient load per student, faculty continuity, teaching-unit coverage, examination systems, internship network, hostel capacity and complete cost.

Ask GEIMS for the first batch's attendance, internal assessment and university examination framework, plus the planned internship rotations for 2024 entrants. For an older comparator, obtain recent pass rates and internship feedback rather than relying on reputation alone. A newer institution may offer modern facilities and smaller legacy bureaucracy; an established institution may provide mature clinical systems and alumni evidence. Neither advantage should be assumed without records.

Record every comparison in a one-page scorecard. Weight clinical exposure and regulatory stability above architecture, advertising or non-medical rankings.

GEIMS reporting document checklist

  • MCC 2026 registration/payment and allotment letter.
  • NEET UG 2026 admit card and scorecard.
  • Class 10 and Class 12 marksheets/passing certificates.
  • Transfer, migration and character certificates.
  • Aadhaar/government ID, date-of-birth proof and photographs.
  • Caste/PwBD documents where applicable to the allotted row.
  • NRI sponsor passport/visa, relationship, affidavit and embassy certificate.
  • Gap affidavit and medical certificate where applicable.
  • GEIMS admission form and discontinuation bond.
  • Fee remittance/DD evidence and hostel form.
  • Original-document acknowledgement.

The official page states that candidates without originals and payment details will not be admitted. Do not rely on a bonafide certificate for originals deposited elsewhere unless the current 2026 instruction expressly permits it.

Post-allotment workflow

  1. Match the GEIMS MCC code, quota, round and Dhoolkot address.
  2. Download current fee, bond, refund and hostel documents.
  3. Verify NMC 2026 status and the live MCC row.
  4. Confirm payment beneficiary through official contact details.
  5. Report with originals before the MCC deadline.
  6. Obtain itemised receipts and original-document acknowledgement.
  7. Read upgradation/resignation effects before the next round.

Common mistakes

  • Using Graphic Era's generic direct-admission process for MBBS.
  • Applying through Uttarakhand state counselling instead of MCC deemed counselling.
  • Treating a 2024 Rs 28 lakh deposit as confirmed 2026 cost.
  • Ignoring the no-refund and discontinuation-bond exposure.
  • Calling 150 intake the vacancy in every MCC round.
  • Comparing NEET marks instead of closing AIR.
  • Using university engineering rankings to judge clinical quality.
  • Not auditing patient load at a new college.
  • Paying cached bank details or a personal account.
  • Reporting without originals.
